Arsenal Fight Back with 95th-Minute Winner

Wolves' Early Lead Not Enough

Emirates, London, UK - 12 November 2022

Arsenal staged a dramatic late comeback to beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 on Thursday, with Martin Ødegaard scoring the winner in the 95th minute. Hwang Hee-chan had given Wolves an early lead at the Emirates, but Matheus Cunha equalized for Arsenal in the 86th minute.

The result sees Arsenal move up to fifth in the Premier League table, while Wolves remain in 19th place.

Arsenal started the game brightly and had a few good chances in the opening minutes. However, it was Wolves who took the lead against the run of play in the 10th minute. Hwang Hee-chan latched onto a long ball over the top and finished coolly past Aaron Ramsdale.

Arsenal struggled to create clear-cut chances for much of the first half, but they did have a few half-chances. Gabriel Jesus had a shot saved by Jose Sa, while Bukayo Saka dragged a shot wide from the edge of the area.

Wolves were dangerous on the counter-attack and had a few good chances to extend their lead. Hwang Hee-chan had a shot saved by Ramsdale, while Daniel Podence fired over from a good position.

Arsenal improved after the break and started to create more chances. They finally got their equalizer in the 86th minute when Matheus Cunha headed home from a Bukayo Saka cross.

Arsenal pushed for a winner in the closing stages and were rewarded in the 95th minute. Martin Ødegaard curled a beautiful shot into the top corner from the edge of the area.

The win was a much-needed one for Arsenal, who had lost their previous two Premier League games. It also keeps them in the race for a top-four finish.
