How to Draw the Human Larynx

Materials You'll Need

• Pencil
• Paper
• Eraser

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Draw the Basic Shape

Start by drawing a circle for the base of the larynx. Then, add a smaller circle on top for the vocal cords. Connect the two circles with a line.

Step 2: Add the Cartilages

Draw a "V" shape on the front of the larynx for the thyroid cartilage. Then, add a smaller "V" shape below it for the cricoid cartilage. Finally, draw two small circles on each side of the vocal cords for the arytenoid cartilages.

Step 3: Add the Epiglottis

Draw a small, leaf-shaped figure at the top of the larynx for the epiglottis. This structure helps to prevent food from entering the trachea.

Step 4: Add Details

Add any additional details you want, such as the muscles and ligaments of the larynx. You can also shade your drawing to give it depth.

Step 5: Erase Guidelines

Once you're satisfied with your drawing, erase any guidelines you used to help you draw it.
