Deadly Hurricane Hits Texas Coast
Tropical Storm Beryl has unleashed its fury upon Houston, leaving behind a trail of devastation. The storm, which made landfall near Matagorda, Texas, ripped through the heart of the city, transforming roads into rivers and claiming lives.
As of Monday, the hurricane's center was approximately 55 miles south-southwest of Houston, tracking north at 12 mph. Hurricane-force wind gusts have been reported in both Texas and Louisiana, with gusts reaching as high as 100 mph in downtown Houston.
Hurricane Beryl is continuing to move inland, threatening additional areas with its destructive force. The National Hurricane Center has issued a hurricane warning for the Houston metropolitan area, as well as parts of southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana.
